Mel Gibson’s Malibu House Is Up For Grabs, Again…

Listing Price

Mel Gibson’s Malibu Mansion is once again up for sale, and the current asking price is obviously lower than the initial asking price.  In July 2017, the home was listed for $17.5 million, but the current asking price is a significantly lesser sum of $14.495 million. When the house was first listed in 2017, Gibson didn’t find the ideal buyer for the home; a stone, wood, stucco and brick-clad mansion.

The current listing price of Gibson’s Malibu Mansion is $17.5 million

A driveway gate together with dense foliage substantially hides the house from the road. It sits on 5.49 acres and offers canyon views and stunning ocean. This feature combination gives the right privacy that would help one feel some sort of seclusion from Malibu’s bustle. The home spans 6, 578 square feet and includes 5 bedrooms plus 4 and a half bathrooms that are found across 2 levels. It also has a separate 2-bedroom guesthouse sitting above a detached car garage.

Interior Design

The home interior has its fair share of old-world detailing, and that includes hardwood floors, open wood beams as well as several fireplaces. Also, it has one or two wrought-iron chandeliers that perfectly completes the old-world ambiance.

The common rooms have French doors, and that allows in considerable rays of Malibu sunshine. The doors also give room for a mixture of indoor and outdoor living simultaneously as they lead to the green grounds surrounding the home.

From a center island which is marble topped to a wine racket found just underneath, the kitchen features are reportedly French inspired. The kitchen also has picture windows offering delectable impressions of the Pacific.

The home’s private wing houses the master suite, one that has two walk-in closets as well as an immersive bathroom. The bathroom has a claw-foot tub located in a prominent spot in the center of the room. There is also a magnificent chandelier hanging from the bedroom’s ceiling and a whole wall accommodating benched seating adjacent to the wall of Windows. It’s an ideal place for reading a book or simply enjoying a nice evening nightcap.  The backyard has several grassy lawns, a dining pergola (vine-wrapped), 2 swimming pools and a separate gym or pool house.

Gibson’s Multi-Million Properties

Reports indicate that the previous owners of the home were Téa Leoni and David Duchovny. Gibson reportedly bought the house from them for roughly $11.5 million. This is just one of the several multi-million properties Gibson has in that area. Most of the other properties are located on the beach.

Other properties belonging to Gibson includes Mago Island situated in Fiji and Hacienda Dorada

Also, Gibson is the proud owner of Mago Island which is virtually an undeveloped island located in Fiji. He bought it for $15 million sometime in 2005. He also owns Hacienda Dorada, an oceanfront spread spanning across 402 acres and located in Costa Rica. He reportedly bought it for $28.5 million sometime in 2007. He has hopes of selling Hacienda Dorada, and the last known listing price was $29.75 million.
