Weight Loss Guru Jenny Craig Finally Sheds Beachfront Mansion For This Reduced Yet Still Very Profitable Price Tag

For more than three decades now, entrepreneur Jenny Craig has been helping people shed the extra pounds through her eponymous nutrition and weight management company. Now, she’s reportedly just shed some serious weight herself, although not in the literal sense, as she finally offloads a massive beachfront home in the city of Del Mar in California’s San Diego County.

The ‘Best of San Diego’

The home’s outdoor patio and swimming pool

Described to be a representation of the best San Diego has to offer, the 7,625 square feet mansion offers its residents not only an 80-foot stretch of private beach but also unobstructed ocean views ‘from La Jolla to San Clemente’.

The home reportedly has five bedrooms as well as seven bathrooms spread throughout its two stories. The property also seems like a great fit for the kind of rich and famous residents that such areas attract.

For starters, the house is tucked away hidden from prying eyes, behind a gated driveway which is large enough to fit up to 18 cars. This driveway will definitely come in handy as the home is ‘primed for entertaining’, according to its listing.

Speaking of entertaining, the beach mansion comes with a full outdoor kitchen located right near its patio, spa and swimming pool. There’s also a spacious courtyard in the home’s interiors. Meanwhile, there’s space to accommodate four more cars in the garage. It’s estimated that the entirety of the property measures at 3/4 of an acre.

The beachfront mansion’s living room has floor to ceiling windows which open out to the sunny outdoors

Taking advantage of its fantastic location near the beach, the house employs a design which seeks to blend the interiors with the outdoors. This principle can primarily be seen in its living spaces which are oriented to face the glass doors and windows that, in turn, face the ocean.

Even the kitchen, though technically located inside, has easy access to the outside and somewhat feels like an outdoor kitchen. Another notable design element found in the home are the weather-resilient floor tiles which serve as the transition from the courtyard to the interiors.

The identity of the home’s lucky new owner remained undisclosed.

Long Time Coming

Craig first bought the home in 1986 for just $3.25 million

Craig managed to sell the property for a whopping $22 million after first putting it up for sale in 2014. It was initially listed with the much larger asking price tag of $39.5 million. Unable to find a buyer, the home’s asking price kept going down over the years.

It was actually listed for $27 million in March 2019. But despite these reductions, amounting to 44% of a discount, the sale was still among the top of the priciest home sells in the Del Mar area and even the entirety of San Diego itself. It’s also said to be the highest sale there in more than 10 years.

The now 87-year-old businesswoman is estimated to be worth an impressive $300 million, thanks to her super successful fitness empire.
