Katie Holmes is Leaving Calabasas: Here’s How Much You Need to Spend to Buy Her Home

Calabasas is known for being home to big celebrities – the Kardashian-Jenner clan lives there, famous YouTuber and makeup mogul Jeffree Star also resides in the area, and even hip-hop superstar Drake has a song about this A-lister city. However, not everyone stays in this celeb-crowded community, and one of Hollywood’s most famous is now ready to leave this twinkle town.

Au Revoir, Calabasas

Katie Holmes bought a house in Calabasas in 2014, and after five years, she is now ready to let go of the property. Bought for roughly $3.8 million two years after her divorce with Tom Cruise, the Batman Begins star is now selling the 6,000-square foot residence plus a detached guesthouse for $4.625 million. The move may seem logical, too, since she and her daughter Suri are usually seen on the East Coast, where they live in a duplex penthouse in Chelsea.

The house is situated on a half-acre land in a gated neighborhood in Calabasas

The 6-bedroom dwelling sits on a half-acre land inside the star-studded Oaks, one of the famous gated communities in the city. The property also boasts a patio, a basketball half-court, a private motor court, and a swimming pool with a spa and an outdoor bonfire pit.

The Tudor-revival home with a stone-clad exterior also offers luscious greenery and an endless view of the hills surrounding the private residential area. Since it is also conveniently located on the cul-de-sac of the community, and the next-door neighbor is an untouched property, the estate is serene and peaceful.

Elegant and Minimalist

Welcoming you to the house is a grand foyer with high ceilings and dark wood staircase. There is also a sitting area on the landing space that is also decorated with artworks and indoor plants. The interior is elegant and minimalist, using only a few colors. The clashing of the dark wood floors and the immaculate white walls also gave the atmosphere of the home a modern twist.

The floor-to-ceiling fireplace adds to the modern accents of the house

Speaking of modern accents, the living room speaks that language with a wooden floor-to-ceiling minimalist fireplace and a linear chandelier. The room’s ceiling also has recessed lightings, which may seem redundant with the number of windows bordering the room that floods it with natural lighting.

Bright Rooms

The home also has a great room that has a picture window and three pairs of French doors leading you to the basketball court and the loggia. Adjacent to the family room is the kitchen with white tiles and black cabinets and cupboards. Aside from being equipped with pristine and updated appliances, it also has a dining island with white countertop. There is also a breakfast nook a few steps near the kitchen.

On the other side of this H-shaped home is the formal dining room, which is also relatively bright, thanks to a picture window on one side and two pairs of French doors perpendicular to that wall. The doors will lead you to the patio and the swimming pool area. Somewhere in this residence is a loft that also serves as a sitting area.

The master suite is also blessed with many windows, a sitting nook, and a private roofless deck. The master bath feels luxurious with marble tiles, built-in bathtub, and face-to-face vanities.
